                                 Fredi Guaraca

Artist & Photographer in NY

I'm Fredi Guaraca and I was born in Gualaceo, Ecuador. I began drawing in 1998, which was my first foray in the world of art. My first exhibition was in 1999 and included my collection of plumilla postcards. From 2000 to 2003, I took part in several group shows with other artists. In 2004 I started to take painting courses and improved my technique with the help of local and foreign artists. In 2006 I had my first solo exhibition, which included 25 landscape paintings called "Paisajes Y Entornos Azuayos". In 2010, I exhibited the "Mi Tierra Mi Paisaje" creation, which was my last exhibition in Ecuador. Then I moved to New York in November of 2010, where I currently reside with my brother, and I've been studying at The Art Students League of New York. I continued with my art, and in the spring of 2012, I held an exhibition of my Ecuadorian landscapes and gallery plexi-glass photographs on metallic paper at the International Center of Catholic Charities Community Services. In the spring of 2013 I held another exhibition at the same Center of my pastel drawings.
